Portugal’s producer prices fall further in September, though at a softer pace, figures from Statistics Portugal showed on Tuesday.
The producer price index decreased 4.6 percent year-on-year in September, following a 5.0 percent decline in August.
Excluding the energy group, producer prices fell 1.3 percent in September, following a 1.5 percent decrease in the previous month.
Prices for energy declined 17.6 percent annually in September and those of intermediate goods decreased 2.7 percent.
Meanwhile, prices for investment goods rose 0.2 percent.
On a month-on-month basis, producer prices increased 0.1 percent in September, reversing a 0.1 percent fall in the prior month.
In the third quarter, producer prices declined 5.0 percent yearly, following a 5.9 percent fall in the previous quarter.
